Project Runway is now casting! Have what it takes to show your stuff at New York fashion week? This is your chance!

• The minimum age to apply for the show is 21. 
• For more details, information, and to apply, please fill out the application (Download) and follow all directions that are on it. 
• The deadline for us to receive applications is March 15th, 2012. 
• That said, our invite only casting calls begin in early April. 
• Getting your submission in as soon as possible guarantees that you can be invited to the call that is geographically closest to you.

1. How did you start as a fashion blogger? What was the idea behind your blog?
2. Why is fashion a worth while subject to blog (write) about?
3. How do you engage with your readers or followers? What tools of communications work? How do you maintain an ongoing discussion?
4. Is there a current or a possible revenue stream being utilized? Ie: Affiliate Marketing, Link Exchange, Banner Advertisement? Does it work?
5. What other social media tools do you use often to promote your blog? ie: Twitter, Facebook, Four Square. Can you tell us, what works and what doesn’t?
6. What do you think of mobile technology? Is this tool being utilized with your blogging?

Brief Space is a 3000 sq ft Rental Gallery + Performance + Boutique located on the 2nd floor of the Metreon, adjacent to the Yerba Buena Gardens.

Lots of blank walls, high ceilings and big windows over looking 4th and Mission St. in the SOMA District of San Francisco.
This free event will be showcasing the products of the indie art and fashion community of the bay area.

I’m looking for committed fashion designers. SFFAMA will be partnering with Art Inspiring Hope on March 12, 2011 for a benefit event to be held at San Francisco Design Center. The fashion show will be the entertainment portion of the evening. It will be during a span of a two-hour time. I’m looking for both female and male fashion designers with a cohesive collection of 12 outfits.

SFFAMA is looking for speakers for our Fashion Mash-Up on Oct. 21, 2010.

• TOPIC: FASHION IN RETAIL BUSINESS

•  WHAT WILL YOU LEARN FROM THIS WORKSHOP?

• You will obtain information on setting up a retail or online store. You will learn how to improve your current retail business

• DISCUSSIONS:

1. Why did you choose fashion as a retail product? Explain.
2. Why is location an important factor? Or, is it?
3. Why is branding online important? Is your website (url) the proper representation of your product?
4. What is a successful fashion merchandise? What type of merchandise sells the most? Clothing? Accessories? Others?
5. Where do you buy these products? Do you buy from catalogues? Do you do consignments? Explain the process?
6. How do you consider or qualify a designer? What are you looking for?
7. Is there a sales approach in selling these products? What works? What doesn’t?
8. How do you retain your customers? What is good customer service?
9. What is the most challenging aspect of running a retail business? Is it: Technology? Marketing? Operations?
