Open Call. Are You A Manly Man?

OPEN CALL: Male Model for ALLEY COLLECTION. No experience necessary. Audition required. Requirement: Height - 5’8” and over. Must be able to walk the runway. Event date: March 12, 2011. Location: SF Design Center. Fill out model form here.

About: ALLEY COLLECTION. To better balance the slew of clothing options we’ve featured lately that are tailored to slimmer guys, we’ve recently been on the hunt for good looking attire made with more athletic men in mind. Alley Collection fits that bill perfectly. Created by John Robblee, who is a former Bay Area Firefighter, and his partner Laura Panaude, Alley Collection’s goal is to provide urban-suitable workwear that’s made to be durable and look good on any man who values being active during the time away from his 9 to 5.

Designed and crafted in San Francisco, the entire line is amazingly affordable considering the level of quality and attention to detail. Many of their pieces stood out during our inspection, but we liked the James Jacket ($200) in particular because of its clean looks and sharp motorcycle jacket cut. Meant as their website says for “James of Newark (rather) than for James Dean”, the jacket is made from tailored carr-go canvas and is rugged enough to handle the trials of the city. Details though like its 36 inch Italian front buttons, gingham contrast pocket lining, shoulder epaulettes, and pop contrast double stitching, are what really make the James a great wardrobe addition. Available now in charcoal, army green, or mist colors, for the price we’ll be hard pressed to recommend another summer jacket that captures this much style.
